There will be some changes at the courthouse in Ohio County.
Officials say they've designed to make it safer for the officials, employees, and the public.
Most anyone can gain access to certain areas of the building and to help solve that problem, the basement is going to be closed to the general public.
A keycard will be needed to access the elevator and bottom floor.
"Basically, this basement where the public bathrooms are at right now will be shut off, and they're going to put new public restrooms on the second floor," says Sheriff David Thompson.
Sheriff Thompson adds that this will make it easier when his department needs privacy while interviewing victims or dealing with criminals.
Work on the changes should begin sometime next week.
