Ohio County Attorney Child Support Office earns state honor | News

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has selected the Ohio County Attorney Child Support Office as the state's Contracting Official Office of the Year, 2012.

Department of Income Support (DIS) Deputy Commissioner, Steve Veno, presented the award at a reception in Frankfort recently, hosted by the CHFS Child Support Enforcement Program (CSE). CSE administers child support enforcement jointly with local contracting officials for all 120 counties. 

Criteria for the award included creativity and customer service.

The Ohio County Attorney Child Support Office website, OhioCountyChildSupport.com, is one of the examples of how this office has worked to meet the needs of the Ohio County residents, as it predated the now statewide online service (to which it has direct links) with office and program information as well as downloadable forms to expedite service.Ohio County Attorney, Greg Hill, nominated his staff, Office Manager Sherrill C. Amos, Caseworker Melissa Miller, and Investigator Patricia Bridewell, for the award for their work to bring Ohio County's rankings from 119th, when his office took over the responsibility from the former Special Prosecutor in 2007, to 19th in September of this year. Nominations were also received from the judges and circuit clerk who work alongside the office in helping families in need of assistance and support. 

The office is located in the basement of the Ohio County Community Center, Suite 105, at 130 E Washington Street, Hartford.
