Two people are in jail on Monday following the death of a four-year-old and two other children suffered serious injuries.
Kentucky State Police say they started their investigation into this incident on Saturday after a four-year-old was taken to OMHS in Owensboro with life threatening injuries.
Detectives say 25-year-old Nataniel Tucker was watching 23-year-old Samantha Oakley's three, four, and five-year-old children at their residence in Hartford when the three and five-year-old children suffered trauma ranging from bruising to a spinal fracture of the tibia.
The four-year-old child was later transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital because of the child's injuries.
On Monday, the child was removed from life support and died. An autopsy will be performed by a Cincinnati Medical Examiner.
Tucker, Oakley's boyfriend, is charged with murder, 3 counts of criminal abuse and three counts of assault.
Oakley is charged with 3 counts of first degree criminal abuse. It is alleged that Oakley knew of the abuse and failed to properly report it to authorities.
The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
