MCLEAN CO, KY (WFIE)- McLean County Emergency Management says beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and continuing until the oppressive heat wave breaks, arrangements for cooling shelters have been made. 

EMA says the shelters will be opening to provide anyone without air conditioning a cool place to get in out of the heat.  The locations will be available only for cooling and will not be providing food or refreshments.  They will be operating from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

  • Beech Grove Area - Beech Grove Christian Church            
  • Buck Creek Area - Buck Creek Baptist Church
  • Calhoun Area - Calhoun Baptist Church  
  • Island Area - Island Methodist Church
  • Livermore Area - McLean County Public Library
  • Sacramento Area - Sacramento Methodist Church

McLean County remains under an Outdoor Burning Ban.  Fireworks are considered to be outdoor burning.  Organized Community Fireworks will be permitted if there is a Fire Department on scene.
