Big Rivers earns safety award | Business
Kentucky Labor Cabinet Secretary Mark Brown today presented Big Rivers’ Coleman Station with the Governor’s Safety and Health Award.
The Governor’s Safety and Health Award provides special recognition for outstanding safety and health performance and encourages the development of programs designed to reduce and even eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses.
The award is given to employers and their employees who together have achieved the required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness.
Big Rivers’ Coleman Station, which employs 110 workers, is an example of employees and employers working together to create a safe work environment for all.
“This award signifies the emphasis that Big Rivers’ board, the senior leadership team and employees place on worker safety,” said Brown. “Coleman Station and its employees have reached this milestone through regular safety meetings, observations and cooperation with safety officials. Safety is a corporate value at this organization and is an accomplishment to be applauded.”
